It’s A Wrap! Christmas Packing Party Success

December found us busy at our warehouse preparing for Christmas which culminated in our annual Troopathon Christmas Care Package Packing Party. This year’s event was proudly hosted by PG&E as our featured volunteer group.

This special holiday event sends Christmas cheer to our deployed troops. An army of volunteers from PG&E, FedEx Cares, SAFE Credit Union, and many others helped us ship more than 2,500 care packages for troops overseas. But they didn’t stop there, Santa’s helpers packed up an additional 500+ care packages to follow soon. These packages include Christmas stockings filled with candy, hot cocoa, candy canes, See’s Candy, and a whole bunch of other great snacks and personal care items for the troops!

Our care packages are hand assembled, filled with Christmas cheer and a personalized message from supporters.

Members of our uniformed services who have received Troopathon care packages in the past joined PG&E employees and additional volunteers to help assemble the care packages, offering firsthand insight into the impact of these packages and fostering a sense of camaraderie and gratitude among all our participants.

A Resolution Worth Keeping

After weeks of planning, it is over. All over! Christmas has come and gone, and a New Year has dawned. Radio stations have returned to their regularly scheduled programming, and we go back to our everyday life. We face the New Year full of hope, with a fistful of resolutions not yet broken and perhaps an extra pound or two as witness to our Christmas merriment. What a perfect opportunity to do something meaningful to bring joy to another and make us feel dang good to boot.

The holidays may indeed be in our rearview mirrors, however, that doesn’t mean our troops go into a magical statis like a toy soldier on a shelf as they wait for next year. Heck no! We still have bundles of troops serving right now, who are humbly hoping for a care package from home.

Daily we see an influx of care package requests from our deployed troops. Indeed, with more troops on the move, for longer deployments in truly dangerous conditions, your support is more vital than ever before.

Furthermore, we’ve made it extremely simple to join our contract-free reoccurring donation Monthly Smiles Program. Monthly giving allows you to support our troops year-round. Hassle free giving without the bother of getting on the website or picking up the phone and sending a care package.

When ordering just select One-time, Monthly, Quarterly or Annually and select your amount. You can even enter a custom amount. It’s so simple and you can stop any time if your circumstances change. To join reoccurring donation Monthly Smiles program, just click **HERE**.

Monthly giving is a snap. When checking out just highlight the button to make your donation monthly, quarterly, or annually. Moreover, you can dedicate your donation in honor or in memory of someone you hold dear. Finally, your care package wouldn’t be complete without your personalized message of support. You don’t need to be Hemingway or Shakespeare to dash off a heartfelt letter letting your troop know you are thinking of them.

What a way to start the year, a gift of caring that will let our troops know you have their back all year round.

‘Tis the Season to Prep Taxes

With the Christmas season wrapping up, a less joyous season draws near. Tax Season! That’s right, tax time is just around the corner, but don’t sweat it. We have got you covered! Troopathon makes it easy to see your annual giving immediately.

Check your email for our end of the year Annual Giving Summary. Our 2024 Annual Giving Summary will be dropped into your email box in the coming week. If you don’t see it? Might need to check your spam folder. Look for the subject line "Year-end Annual Giving Receipt for {your name} from Troopathon." Your Annual Giving Summary emails to the email address we have on file for you.

If you accidentally delete it or just cannot find it in your in box don't fret! We are resending your end of the year summary again on February 1, 2025 just in time for the tax deadline.

For your convenience, you may request a summary at any time by calling us at (916) 441-6197. Hey, don't want to call, we get it. Simply dash off an email [email protected] . We’ll take care of you! After all, you take amazing care of our troops, and we appreciate it. That's why we will make sure receipts are a breeze.
