Give Our Troops X's and O's This Valentine's Day

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and Troopathon is proud to invite everyone to show their appreciation for our heroic men and women serving in the armed forces. These brave souls are away from home and their families, so a care package filled with love and kindness would mean the world to them. We invite school groups, churches, scouts, individuals, and anyone else to send us homemade Valentine’s Day cards and care packages.

For several years, Troopathon has worked with many groups to make this happen, and we love the joy and excitement of seeing the colorful cards! Each year, we receive hundreds of hand-crafted Valentine’s Day cards to include in our care packages, and the troops are truly moved by the gesture. We often receive photos of our troops grinning from ear-to-ear as they proudly hold up the cards included in their very own care package.

Of course, Valentine’s wouldn’t be complete without some candy conversation hearts! We’ve got those too, so our troops can know that we think they’re “Hot Stuff” or “Your Cool” or that we “Choose You.” A little fun goes a long way to brighten the days for our service members, and it's a great way to let them know how much we care.

Now is the perfect time to give our troops X's and O's and show them that we care. We encourage everyone to join us in showing our troops some love this Valentine's Day. We'd love to have your help in making sure that our troops receive Valentine's Day cards in our care packages. Not only will your cards and packages bring joy to our troops, but they will also provide much needed support that only you can provide.

Pleasecontact Lisa by clicking hereto let her know you like to send holiday cards or go to donation page to help send care packages to our troops with your personal Valentine’s day message! By donating a care package, you can show our troops that we are thinking of them and truly appreciate all they do for us. Join us today in supporting our troops this Valentine's Day and make sure they know how much we care!

A Tale of True Love an Sacrifice -- Four Chaplains Remembered

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ewJp8HhYzA

During WWII, in the early morning hours of February 3, 1943, the USAT Dorchester was torpedoed by the German submarine U-223 and cast into chaos. As the ship began sinking and panic ensued, four chaplains stepped forward to bring hope and courage in the face of despair. Lt. George L. Fox, Methodist; Lt. Alexander D. Goode, Jewish; Lt. John P. Washington, Roman Catholic; and Lt. Clark V. Poling, Dutch Reformed each removed their own life vests in order to give them to those in need. Ignoring their own safety, they prayed for the dying and offered words of encouragement to those who would live.

Troopathon has been shining a light on this heroic event by making sure their sacrifice is not forgotten. As we mark the 80th anniversary of their courage and selflessness, let us remember their legacy and honor their memory. Let us share their story and show our own appreciation for those who serve our country. Join us in remembering the Four Chaplains and honoring their legacy of faith and courage.

Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue, Surprise We Have Bombas for You

Our troops work hard and their feet take a beating. From carrying loads upwards of 70 pounds to logging far more miles than the average person, our troops deserve a special treat. That's why we've included high-quality Bombas socks in our care packages for a limited time.

These socks are designed with comfort and durability in mind, featuring thoughtful design elements like toe seams and slip-resistant technology. In addition to Bombas, Troopathon care packages contain all kinds of goodies to pamper our troops. Our packages include premium coffee, tender beef jerky, energy gels, Gatorade packets, hand and face wipes, candy, nuts, and cookies. All of these items are selected with the specific needs and requests of deployed troops in mind. A simple item like a pair of socks can show our troops that we care. Thanks to a generous donation, we can now give our troops one more way to say "Thanks, we love you!"

"Eternal Pledge of Gratitude" -- Offered With Love to Our Troops

The United States military, With sacrifice and courage,

Their duty to protect and serve, Their love for country, never to waver.

Through battles fought and wars won, Through heartache and pain,

They stand tall, brave and strong, For freedom they'll forever remain.

From the deserts to the seas, From the mountains to the skies,

They defend our nation's liberty, With valor in their eyes.

Their sacrifice, a debt we owe, To those who've fallen before,

We honor them and those who go, To protect us evermore.

Through their service, they inspire, A deep and profound appreciation,

For the men and women of our military, We hold a love that's true and pure.

We pledge to support them, In every way we can,

To show them our gratitude, For all that they have done.
