Suburban Propane Partners Join Troopathon to Support our Troops

Care packages are heading out the door thanks to a generous donation from Suburban Propane Partners, L.P. The SuburbanCares program, a nationwide Suburban Propane community support initiative exists to give back to local communities they serve. Suburban Propane’s donation provides more than 200 care packages for our deployed troops. Without a doubt, our troops will be grateful come mail call when these care packages arrive.

Additionally, nearly a dozen local and national Suburban Propane volunteers joined us at Troopathon headquarters. Volunteers kicked it in to high gear to pack and ship over 200 boxes loaded with treats. Furthermore, Nandini Sankara, Suburban Propane spokesperson took time out to speak with the media thus highlight their commitment to supporting our troops.

Each care package contains essential items prized by our troops, such as gourmet coffee, jerky, energy gels, protein bars, sunscreen, bug repellent, magazines, phone cards, and more. In truth, all items our deserving troops request most. Our sharable care packages aim to provide a taste of home and comfort.  Therefore, 200 packages stuffed to the brim can easily treat 10 military personnel, thus serving over 1,000 of our deployed troops.

According to Nandini Sankara, spokesperson for Suburban Propane, “Suburban Propane proudly supports our military and is a longtime veteran employer.”

“We’re honored to team up with Troopathon to provide essential supplies to our deployed troops, and show their families that they are respected and cared for back home, “said Sankara.

We were fortunate to have members of the press stop by to document Suburban Propane's volunteer efforts.

Indeed, the gratitude flows both ways. Just ask Troopathon’s own Scott Raab, Outreach Director for Troopathon.

“Being a United States Navy Veteran who served in Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom, I understand firsthand the challenges and sacrifices our troops and their families make,” said Raab.  “The generous donation from Suburban Propane to our care package program is truly impactful. It shows how companies like Suburban Propane make a difference by supporting our deployed troops and bringing comfort to their families back home. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to our military community.”

When asked how the Suburban Propane team enjoyed their day of volunteering, Nadine was enthusiastic. “Thank you so much again for collaborating with us on a phenomenal event. It was great meeting you all. Our team had a fantastic time volunteering.”

Happy volunteers and happy troops, what more could we ask!

Troopathon Donors Come Through

Another amazing Troopathon has wrapped up and thanks to our dedicated donors, special Angels who helped us get it on the air and our amazing volunteers, we are able to sponsor thousands of hopeful troops. Sadly, our job is never done.

We're increasingly concerned about all the stories we've been seeing about troops deployments. To be sure, more requests for support arrive each day. Just days after Joe Biden announced the calling up of reserve troops to go to Europe to support Ukraine, we hear about even more troop deployments. The DoD is beefing up our military presence in the Middle East

We have troops deployed in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and more places all over the world who need our support, and with more troops going overseas we will need to send more care packages very soon! If you were able to give during Troopathon we thank you. If you just didn't quite get around to it yet there is still time.

With citizens facing rising prices from basic necessities like food, utilities, transportation and household expenses it's easy to forget our troops still need us. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to support them and show your gratitude for their service. It costs as little as $25.

Pocky Sticks Make Snacking a Snap

Simple and memorable, the iconic chocolaty Pocky box has brought smiles to faces all around the globe. Pocky Sticks, introduced as the world’s first chocolate stick snack in 1966 are sure to please. Our troops love Pocky’s delicious, crunchy, and shareable quality. Furthermore, with 19 billion boxes sold worldwide since 1966 and about 500 million boxes sold annually Pocky's appeal remains strong.

Troopathon is please to include the delicious crunch of Pocky sticks in our current care packages while supplies last.
